APC Sacks Buni, Niger Governor Arrives Party Secretariat As New Caretaker Committee Chair

There was a new twist to the crisis rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday following the unexpected sack of Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State as the chairman of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the party.

The twist is coming barely three weeks to the national convention of the party slated for March 26 in Abuja.

Following the removal of Buni, who is currently abroad for an official duties, APC has appointed Niger State governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, as the new chair of the committee.

Bello has moved to the party secretariat amidst tight security where he is meeting with members of the APC caretaker committee.

The Niger State governor confirmed the development on a tweet on his Twitter handle on Monday.

Present at the APC headquarters are the State chairmen of the party and members of the caretaker committee.
