Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly abducted 80-year-old Madam Beauty Nimiyigha who is the mother of Yenagoa Local Government chairman in Bayelsa State, Hon. Uropaye Nimiyigha.
Madam Nimiyigha was abducted from her home on Thursday night.
Sources said the octogenarian was kidnapped at about 11.40pm at her home situated in the Agudama-Ekpetiama area of Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
The victim’s home is few meter away from the community secondary school.
The gunmen numbering five stormed the home in a Nissan Pathfinder Jeep shooting sporadically to scare residents of the area.
Residents, according to sources scampered for their lives until the hoodlums took away their target.

They were said to have taken their victim to Amassoma waterside where they abandoned their car and disappeared into the creek in a waiting speedboat.
Contacted Spokesman of the State Police command, Mr. Asinim Butswat, confirmed the abduction.
He said, “On Thursday, March 5, 2020 at about 2340 hours, five unknown gunmen went to Agudama Ekpetiama Community, Yenagoa Local Government Area, in a Pathfinder Jeep without Registration Number, kidnapped one Mrs Beauty Nimiyigha 80 years, abandoned the Jeep and escaped into the creek.
“The Command has launched manhunt on the kidnappers and to rescue the victim. Investigation is ongoing.”
