12 Anambra Lawmakers Set To Dump APGA For APC

Ahead of the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State, no fewer than 12 members of the State House of Assembly have reportedly dumped the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This is coming on the heels of the recent defection of Senator Stella Oduah, an Anambra PDP strong voice to the APC.

It was gathered that the 12 lawmakers had met secretly in Abuja with some APC leaders from Anambra State.

It was further gathered that other secret meetings were held held with APC leaders in the state, where conditions and agreements were reached.

Names of some of the lawmakers present at the meeting were given as; Hon. Cater Dike Umeh, Hon. Smart Nonso Okafor, Hon. Lawrence Ezeudu, Hon. Tim Ifediora, Hon. Arthur Chiekwu, Hon. Edward Ibuzo and some others.

It was also gathered that the member representing Ihiala I constituency, Hon. Chidi Udemadu, has also concluded plans to defect to PDP.

Their defection, the ruling APGA has lost majority in the House of Assembly when it reconvenes on September 21.
