Benue Records First Case Of COVID-19 As Confirmed Cases Climb To 89

The confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nigeria on Saturday climbed to 89 following the discovering of eight additional cases in Benue and Lagos States.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) stated this on Saturday while giving updates on the pandemic in the country.

According to the centre, of the eight cases, Benue State recorded one case of the epidemic while Lagos had additional seven new cases.

It will be the first time Benue State will be recording confirmed case of the virus since its outbreak in Nigeria.

NCDC announced the development on Saturday via a tweet on its verified Twitter handle.

“8 new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria, 7 in Lagos and 1 in Benue State. As at 04:00 pm 28th March there are 89 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria with 1 death”, the tweet said.
