Amidst the COVID-19 fears, MultiChoice Nigeria, organizer of the Big Brother Naija reality television show, says the season five of the Nigerian most watched entertainment show will return to TV screens in July 2020.
The organizer stated further that it had already opened online auditions for interested participants of the show.
MultiChoice Nigeria announced this in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos.
It explained that an online audition process will run from Wednesday May 20 till May 30 where it will pick this year’s possible housemates that will participate in the show.
The statement explained that interested participants are expected to record a two-minute video of themselves giving reasons why they should be picked for the BBNaija show for season five.
According to the organizer, contestants “must be willing to live in the Big Brother Naija house located in Lagos with approximately a dozen or more strangers where you will have little or no privacy.
“The house is extensively outfitted with video and audio recording devices which will record, broadcast and exhibit your actions and voice at all times, twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week in every room and space in the house for the duration of your participation in the contest.”
Recall that Mercy Eke won the 2019 edition of the show while Miracle Ikechukwu went home in 2018 with the most coveted prize and Efe Ejeba won the 2017 edition hosted in South Africa and one of the most watched editions of the reality TV show.
Aside the winners, the show has produced TV stars and brand influencers such as Bisola Aiyeola, Okunbo “Tboss” Idowu, Tunde “Teddy A” Adenibuyan, Tobi Bakre, Cynthia “Cee-C” Nwadiora and Bamike “BamBam” Olawunmi.
