The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Dr. Nimibofa Ayawei as the campaign Director-General of its governorship candidate for the November 16, 2019 governorship election in Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri.
Our correspondent gathered that Ayawei was named after marathon meetings held between leaders of the party and the party’s candidate on Sunday in Yenagoa, the state capital.
Dr. Ayawei was one of the PDP aspirants who contested for the governorship primary.

The PDP Campaign DG was a former Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development and later appointed as Chairman of the Bayelsa State Board of Internal Revenue.
The Special Adviser on Public Affairs to Governor Seriake Dickson confirmed the development in a tweet on his twitter handle on Sunday.
According to him, “Bayelsa PDP names Dr. Nimibofa Ayawei as campaign Director-General of its governorship candidate, Senator Douye Diri.
“Dr. Ayawei was picked after an extensive meeting of the state governorship campaign advisory council at Government House, Yenagoa on Sunday night.”
