Baby’s Death: Policeman, Motorcyclist Killed As Mob Set Church Ablaze In Ondo

Angry residents have reportedly set ablaze Sotitobire Miracle Church in Akure Ondo state where the corpse of one-year-old baby who had been missing for some weeks was discovered in a shallow grave inside the church altar.

However, the incident degenerated when the mob reportedly killed a policeman and commercial motorcyclist during the attack on the church.

The lifeless body of the deceased identified as Kolawole Gold was exhumed from the church altar after months of searching of the baby.

Gold was declared missing one month ago during a church service.

Founder of the church, Prophet Alfa Babatunde has also been arrested.

He is reported to be currently in the custody of the Department of State Security(DSS) in Akure, Ondo State capital.

The prophet and founder of the church was arrested based on a petition written by the parents of the missing child.

Miffed by the development angry residents comprising youths mobilized and set the church building on fire on Wednesday.

The policeman was killed by a mob at the scene of the incident while the motorcyclist was allegedly shot dead by a stray bullet.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ondo state command, Mr. Femi Joseph confirmed the development.
