Ejiro Otarigho, the heroic tanker driver in Agbarho, Delta State

Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Olorogun Godwin Adode, has described Mr. Ejiro Otarigho, the courageous tanker driver who drove a burning petroleum tanker to safe area to avert a major fire explosion in Agbarho, Delta State, as a hero.

Agbarho is located in Ughelli North LGA and is one of the major towns in Delta State.

Otarigho, an indigene of the council, in a rare act of bravery last week Friday drove a burning tanker from a danger zone to avert what could have caused tragic explosion in Agbarho.

His act of bravery has been commended by Nigerians with many calling on the federal government to honour him with national honours.

The driver’s audacious act of heroism prevented several lives and property from being destroyed from the raging inferno which gutted the petrol tanker.

But Olorogun Adode in a statement on Tuesday posited that Otarigho’s heroic act underscores the fact that the people of the council are kind and brave.
