ASUU Begins Indefinite Strike Over IPPIS

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared an indefinite strike following failure to reach an agreement with Federal Government over the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) and the non-implementation of the 2009 agreement.

National President of ASUU, Prof Biodun Ogunyemi, who disclosed this on Monday, said the strike followed the expiration of the two notice it had earlier issued to the government.

Briefing journalists at the National Secretariat of the Union in Abuja, Prof. Ogunyemi stated that the government failed to address the issues raised its members.
