The Appeal Court sitting in Enugu, Enugu State on Friday sacked the member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency of Ebonyi State in the House of Representatives, Mr Lazarus Nweru Ogbee.
The appealate court ruled that Comrade Chinedu Ogah of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won February 23, 2019 National Assembly election in the area
Ogbee, who was the Chairman House Committee on Reformatory Institutions, was sacked by the appellate court and upheld the judgment of the Election Petition Tribunal, sitting in Abakaliki which had earlier ruled that the candidate of the APC won the election.
Justice Ignatius Agube-led appeal panel dismissed the appeal filed by the PDP candidate for lack of merit and directed that Ogah should be insued certififcate and sworn in as the member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency.

Delivering the judgement, Justice Agube ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to with immediate effect issue Chinedu Ogah of the APC certificate of return having scored the highest number of valid votes cast in the February general elections.
In the same vein, the appeal and cross Appeal of Mbam Maurice Uchenna Nshii of APC against the victory of Sylvester Ogbaga of the PDP in CA/E/EAPP/17/2019 were also dismissed.
