The Appeal Court in Benin, Edo State, on Friday upheld the election victories of All Progressives Congress (APC) senator for Edo North Senatorial District, Francis Alimikhena, and the member representing Ovia Federal Constituency, Mr Dennis Idahosa of the party.
It also affirmed the election of Jude Ise-Idehen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the Egor/Ikpoba-Okha Federal Constituency.
The court while dismissing the petition filed by PDP candidate in the February 23, 2019 National Assembly election, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, said the appeal was lacking in merit.

Justice Aseimo Moore Ademein, who read the unanimous judgments of the appeal panel, also quashed a petition filed by Omosede Igbinedion, noting that the tribunal was right to have upheld the victory of Idahosa of the APC.
Johnson Agbonyinma of the APC also had his appeal thrown out for lacking in merit.
Agbonayinma had gone to the appellate court, seeking to upturn the decision of the lower tribunal which upheld the victory of Jude Ise-Idehen of the PDP, in the Egor/Ikpoba-Okha Federal Constituency election.

Patrick Idiake who also expressed dissatisfaction with the victory of Joe Edionwele of th PDP, for the Esan West/Esan Central/Igueben Federal Constituency, as decided by the lower tribunal, also asked the appellate court to upturn the decision.
Justice Ademein pronounced all the appeals as lacking in merit and thereafter dismissed them.
He said parties are to bear their respective costs.
