APC Group Commends Sylva Over Decision To Withdraw From 2023 Presidential Race


A group, the Niger Delta APC Youth Vanguard, has comended the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva for the decision to withdraw from the Presidential Race and focus on the completion of the present administration’s policies in the oil and gas sector.

The group, made up of core supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari and Ex-Agitators from the Niger Delta region, described Chief Timipre Sylva as “a good listener” for heeding the plea of Mr. President to stay behind and complete the good work he started in the Oil and Gas Sector which is the mainstay of Nigeria’s economy.

The President and National Coordinator of the group, Fiawei Pathfinder, in a statement issued On Wednesday, noted that in a rare demonstration of solidarity and support, Niger Delta Ex-agitators under the auspices of the Niger Delta APC Youth Vanguard have risen in support of the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Dr Timipre Sylva who recently withdrew from the Presidential race of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

lPathfinder said that in the history of Nigeria no Minister of Petroleum has work hard to transformed and impacted so much in the development of the oil industry and the Oil Producing communities like the former Bayelsa state Governor.

He outlined some of the landmark achievements of Chief Dr Timipre Sylva to include the passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill which had become a mirage for so many years before now. the group listed other achievements to include the re-positioning of the Oil and Gas Sector to get the utmost for the nation, the building of Modular refineries in the region, the maintenance of peace and safety of Oil and Gas infrastructures in the region, the development of human capital of the region, the creation of employment for youths of the region, the rehabilitation of Portharcourt refinery Project that is ongoing that will be soon be complited, The commencement of the 12b dollars TRAIN 7 Project in the creek of Bonny of the Liquefied Natural Gas, among so many other projects completed within two and half years of his stay in the helm of affairs of the ministry.

He hailed Chief DR Timipre Sylva and described him as a distinguished Nigerian leader whose track records cannot be erased in the nearest future,” we have resolved to stand by this great son of the Niger Delta who has shown uncommon loyalty to his principal President Buhari by opting to stay behind and finish the great work he has started.”

The group also pledged to mobilize the nine states of the Niger Delta region for in support of Sylva at all time without any doubt for believing in the credible Leadership of this great son of IJAW NATION, said he remains their leader, father, mentor and role model as far as the Niger Delta region is concern and as a Party leader in the south south.

The ex-militants called on Chief Sylva not to be deterred by the side talks of rumor mongers and naysayers whose stock in trade is to pull down and destroy shining stars of the region.

They called on President Muhammadu Buhari to upgrade Chief Sylva to the position of substantive minister of Petroleum in the remaining one year of his administration.
