Minister of Transportation, Mr Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi says he was attacked by some Nigerians living in Madrid, Spain during an official assignment in the country on Friday.

He, however, claimed that he was fine after the incident.

Amaechi, a two term governor of Rivers State, disclosed this on his official twitter handle, @ChibuikeAmaechi, on Friday evening.

The transportation minister said the incident was quickly repelled by Spanish police authorities and brought the situation immediately under control.

He described his attackers as few misguided Nigerians living in that country.

“Some minutes ago, I was attacked by a few misguided Nigerians while on national assignment at a climate change event in Madrid, Spain.

“They were quickly repelled by the Spanish police before they could do any harm. I am fine. I was not hurt. Thanks for your support & prayers”, Amaechi stated.
