Akwa Ibom Records Five Cases Of COVID-19, Nigeria Now Has 174 Cases

Akwa Ibom State has recorded five index cases of the coronavirus pandemic, becoming the third state in the Niger Delta region after Edo and Rivers State to have confirmed cases of the virus.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed on Wednesday while reeling out 23 new confirmed cases in the country.

Of the 23, Lagos had nine cases, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja recorded seven while Bauchi and Kaduna States had one each respectively.

NCDC said via its Twitter handle, “Twenty-three new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria; 9 in Lagos, 7 in the FCT, 5 in Akwa Ibom, 1 in Kaduna and 1 in Bauchi State

“As at 08:00 pm 1st April there are 174 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Nine have been discharged with two deaths.”
