Delta Queens FC, Asaba, have expressed readiness to battle for a win as they lock horns with their Warri-based rival, Olori Babes FC in an FA Cup supremacy encounter at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State capital.
Ahead of the much anticipated encounter, the coach of Delta Queens, George Emenetie says his side is not leaving any stone unturned to ensure that they defeat their opponent at their home ground.
The match has already been fixed for 12noon as kick-off time at the brand Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
The 2006 FA Champions, according to the head coach, have intensified training and are doing everything possible to ensure a win.
Emenetie said a win against Olori Babes side would be vital towards the new season for the team.
The coach of the Okowa babes added that a crucial win would boost the spirit of the newly assembled team.
Emenetie, who spoke through club’s Media Officer, Oris Esima-Aniretan, boasted that his girls remain favourite to win the encounter even both on paper and on the field of play.
According to him, “But the side is more focused on the now and is taking each game seriously and not undermining any of their opponent.”
Coach Emenetie who expressed confidence on his girls also thanked the management for support in encouraging the girls.
Delta Queens at the Abakaliki Township Stadium in 2006 lashed hard fighting Bayelsa Queens FC of Yenagoa by five goals to three on penalty after 1-1 draw at full time in the finals of the FA cup then known as the Female Challenge Cup.
They were also Female FA cup holders in 2004, and back to back Winners in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
