Aisha, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday continued her silence over the controversy trailing the rumoured planned marriage of her husband to another lady.
The first lady, who took to her twitter handle to celebrate this year’s International Day of the Girl Child, also did not answer enquiries by her followers who demanded that she clear the air on the trending rumour.
It was the first time she will be tweeting since the rumour of the marriage went viral on the internet.
She had yet to respond to questioned posed to her in the tweet she made on Friday morning.
Meanwhile, Mrs Buhari has called for concerted efforts to end gender based violence in the country.
She made the call on Friday in a tweet to mark today’s ‘International Day of the Girl Child’ with theme “Girl Force.”
The first lady, who said, progress had been made in the area of activism to protect the girl child, lamented the growing violence against the girl child.

According to her, “Today, I join millions of girls around the world to celebrate this year’s international day of the girl child, the theme for this year is “GirlForce: Unscripted and Unstoppable”.
“I am happy to note the progress that has been made in the area of activism by girls to protect their gender.
“I want to state that more needs to be done especially to address gender based violence which seems to be more pronounced recently. All hands must be on deck to achieve this.”
