A suspected ritualist has been reportedly been apprehended at the Otokutu Bridge in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State with suspected human heads while posing as a mad man around the bridge.
Among things said to have been recovered from the suspect were human heads, phones and other items.
The Otokutu Bridge is the boundary point between Uvwie and Ughelli South LGAs of the state.
It was gathered that the supposed mad man was trailed to his hideout under the bridge by some members of a local vigilante group in the area who saw him answering calls as sane human being.
The incident which led to a state of pandemonium around the area also resulted in gridlock as vehicular movement was halted.
Sources who witnessed the incident told our correspondent that the suspected ritualist on sighting the vigilante members quickly threw one of his phones into the river while other different types of assorted phones were allegedly recovered from him.
The suspect was alleged to have been severely beaten by youths who later joined the vigilante members.
When our correspondent visited the scene of the incident, the suspect has been rescued by security operatives.
It’s not clear if the suspect was taken to as at the time of filing this report.
