AFCON: Deltans Hail Super Eagles’ Performance, Charge Players For Victory

Football lovers in Delta State have charged the Super Eagles of Nigeria to sustain their performance in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameron as they tackle the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia on today (Sunday) in the rounds of 16.

The Nigeria’s national team was the only team that recorded 100 per cent performance in the group stage after winning all their three group matches.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s match, football enthusiasts lauded the Eagles of Nigeria for their performance so far in the competition.

Our reporter who went round the streets of Warri, Effurun and other parts of Delta reports that Nigerians are pleased with their performance so far.

According to Mr.  Ekeresiri Goodluck, a sport love, commended the performance, adding that he prefers the Nigerian coach, Augustine Eguavoen, to the foreign coach, Jose Peseiro, penned down take over as Technical head of the team.

Goodluck stated that Eguavoen’s salary is not as much as the foreign coach but he has delivered perfectly in the tournament.

Another football lover, Benson Christian Oghenemine, in his opinion said, “They are improving, they haven’t lost any of their three matches. I really like their performance I pray they make Nigeria proud and I really want to be a Super Eagles’ player someday.

He, however, applauded the Amaju Pinnick-led NFF for hiring Peseiro as coach, saying he has been helpful to Eguavoen.

Oghenemine counselled Peseiro to learn from Eguavoen’s management of the team when he finally succeed him as the Super Eagles coach.

 On his part, Mr Oghenekaro Obaro Elozino advised the Super Eagles to continue to keep their clean sheet by winning the tournament for Nigerians.
