Abducted Niger State Commissioner Of Information Regains Freedom

Alhaji Muhammed Sani Idris, Niger State Commissioner of Information, who was kidnapped on Monday has regained freedom.

The commissioner released at about 9pm on Thursday around Suleja area of the state near Abuja.

Gunmen in several motorcycles had invaded his home residence at Babban-Tunga, a community off Abuja/Kaduna highway and whisked him to unknown destination.

Government sources confirmed the release of the commissioner, saying he had been rushed to hospital for medical attention.

The sources added that no ransom was paid to secured his release from his abductors.

The Niger State Police Command has not reacted to the release of the information commissioner as of the time of filing this report.
