COVID-19: UNR Donates Relief Materials To Orphanage Homes In Isoko

An award-winning Facebook group,  Umeh Need Road (UNR) has donated food materials to three orphanage homes in Isoko South and Isoko North Local Government Areas of Delta State as part of measure to cushion the effect of the ravaging COVID-19.

The donations were made on Tuesday ahead of Wednesday lockdown declared in the state by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to battle the spread of the virus in the state.

The benefiting orphanages are Aruka Orphanage Home, Ughole Orphanage Home and Gilga Orphanage Home.

Administrator of the group, Chief Duncan Afahokor, told our correspondent that the donations were aimed to assist vulnerable persons especially in the face of the lockdown tomorrow.

He said the UNR Orphanage Committee comprising of Oviri Kelvin Ozed, Praise Ejiro Kisson, Odoko Kome Okore and Ewhre Uzuazomaro made the donations to the various orphanage homes on behalf of the group on Tuesday morning.

Afahokor, in a statement, said UNR will supports government efforts at curtailing the spread of the disease and urged the people of Isoko Nation to comply with such directives.

“Today, the Umeh Need Road Orphanage Committee comprising of Oviri Kelvin Ozed, Praise Ejiro Kisson, Odoko Kome Okore and Ewhre Uzuazomaro and accompanied by Uzih Aziakpono Japhet alongside Ahomafo Kelvin distributed relief items to Children Revolutionary Foundation (Gilga Orphanage Home), Irri, Ughole Orphanage, Oleh, and Aruka Orphanage Home, Ozoro.

“This is UNR’s own way of supporting the vulnerable in the society in the face of the lockdown in Delta over the Coronavirus. The relief materials will help cushion the hardship occasioned by the COVID-19 outbreak in the state”, the statement said.

The statement further thanked member of the group who contributed to the actualization of the project.

The benefiting homes thanked the group for supporting them and promised to ensure safety of their children in their homes.
