Confusion As Corpse Of Beheaded Man Found In Asaba

A corpse of a beheaded middle-aged man has been discovered in Asaba, Delta State capital, with other vital parts of his body said to be missing.

Asaba is also the headquarters of Oshimili South Local Government Area of the state.

The development, however, created confusion among residents of the state capital on Saturday morning.

The lifeless body of the yet-to-be identified man was found along the busy Nnebisi Road.

Some residents claimed that they had reportedly seen the man alive on Friday along the same route until his beheaded body was discovered on Saturday morning.

Circumstances leading to the death of the man at the time of filing this report were still hazy.

None of the resident who thronged the scene of the incident could identify the deceased.

A source claimed, “We saw the man around 12:00 pm on Friday night still on the floor with all part of his body intact.

“But we surprise to see the man this morning (Saturday) without his head and some vital organs missing. This is so strange.”

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Onome Onowvakpoyeya, confirmed the incident when contacted.

Onowvakpoyeya, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), claimed that the deceased was claimed to be a mad man but wondered why anyone will kill the victim in such a manner.

“Investigation on how to apprehend the culprit of such this heinous crime has begun. We are aware that part of his body was missing when he was found”, she stated
