Inuwa Assumes Duty As New Delta Police Commissioner

Mr. Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa has assumed duty as the new Commissioner of Police in Delta State.

Inuwa took over from CP Adeyinka Adeleke as the state Commissioner of Police on Thursday.

Adeleke will be proceeding on further training, NIGER DELTA TODAY understood.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Onome Onovwakpoyeya, said outgoing commissioner has been nominated to attend a course at National Institute of Policy and Strategy Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Jos.

Inuwa, born on 21st March, 1964 at Ringim Local Government Council of Jigawa State, was promoted to the rank of a commissioner in 2017.

 He holds a BA (Hons) in Arts, also a Masters degree in Public Policy and Administration (MPPA).

The new Delta CP enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 3rd March, 1990. He attended the elite Police Academy Kaduna.

According to the statement, the in-coming CP pledged to leverage on the existing security mechanism already in place towards enthroning the reign of peace and safety in Delta State.

Inuwa advised the public to always co-operate and support the Police and other security agencies at all times towards sustaining the prevailing peace and security in the state.

The outgoing commissioner, Adeleke, according to the statement, thanked the State Government and the people of the State for their support during the reign and urged them to extend same to his successor.
