The Board of Directors of the Niger-Benue Transport Company (NBTC) Limited has appointed Mrs Oluseyi Oluyede as its new Managing Director.
NBTC, one of the first vessel repair and chartering company in the maritime industry in Nigeria, said the appointed is with immediate effect.
The company disclosed this on Thursday after the board meeting of the company held at its corporate headquarters in Ovwian near Warri in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.
Chairman, Board of Directors and President General of the apex Urhobo socio-cultural body, Urhobo Progress Union (UPU, Olorogun Moses Taiga said Mrs Oluyede was the first woman to head company in its over 60 years of existence.
Olorogun Taiga said the board was convinced that Oluyede who has spent over 16 years with the marine servicing firm would bring to bear her worth of experience in rejuvenating the company as one of the leading vessel chartering and repairing firms in the country.
The UPU President General added that the company would continue to be an irresistible beautiful bride in the marine industry through continued offering of quality services to oil and gas industry in the country.

Olorogun Taiga while commending the people of Ovwian and Udu Kingdom for the cordial and peaceful relationship the company has enjoyed over the years, said the company has annually granted university scholarship and other trainings youths of the area.
Oluyede, born on September 21, 1979, holds a Bachelors of Science in Economics and a Master Degree in Business Administration both from the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile Ife.
She joined NBTC in October 2003 as a Technical Assistant (Economics) from where she rose to become General Manager, Corporate Strategy and Marketing, a position she held until her recent elevation as Managing Director.
In her brief remark, the new managing director while thanking the board of directors for her appointment, promised to lead the company to its royal seal as a leading marine firm in the country.
Mrs Oluyede assured that under her leadership NBTC would open its frontier to new opportunities in the maritime industry as well as collaborate with relevant authorities in the industry including the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, for the development of the needed manpower for the industry.
Mrs Oluyede’s presentation as managing director was witnessed by the founder of NBTC, Chief Jean Gay, Chief Godwin Notoma and representatives of company’s shareholders.
