Delta Ijaw Political Front (DIPF), a socio-political group in Niger Delta, has rooted support for the flag-bearer of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief David Lyon, in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Bayelsa state.
President of DIPF, Hon. P. Vita, in a statement issued Tuesday this week, said it had become necessary to give the necessary backing to the right candidate irrespective of political affiliation seeing Bayelsa state as the Jerusalem of the Ijaw nation.
They noted that with the records of Lyon at DIPF’s disposal, Bayelsans would have every course to rejoice, stressing that the agony on the faces of Bayelsans would be a thing of the past when elected.
They went further to pass a vote of confidence on Lyon’s candidacy to lead the state under the platform form of the APC.
“We, members of DIPF have a strong belief that Chief David Lyon has the capacity to lead Bayelsa state to enviable heights in the areas of infrastructural and human capital development if elected to manage the affairs of the state.
“His determination to put smiles on the faces of Bayelsans is tested, tried and affirmed by DIPF that he is the right option and we urged Bayelsans to queue behind him.
“We, however, passed a vote of confidence on the candidacy of Chief David Lyon to the APC to victory in the forthcoming election in the state”, the group said.
