The Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Asaba, the Delta State, has affirmed the election victory of the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege in the February 23, 2019 National Assembly elections.
The tribunal declared that the petitions filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Hon. Evelyn Oboro for the Delta Central Senatorial election lacked merit and it was subsequently dismissed.
Oboro’s four prayers including seeking the tribunal to declare her as the winner of the election were struck out by the panel members.

While delivering their judgement, the tribunal panel 1 presided by Justice A. M Abubaka affirmed the re-election victory of the Deputy President of the Senate and member representing Delta Central on the APC platform.
The tribunal declared that the petitions filed by the PDP and its candidate, Evelyn Oboro lacked merit and it was subsequently dismissed.
Similarly, the Petition Tribunal Panel III presided by Justice E.I Ngene also dismissed the petition brought by APC candidate for Delta North, Doris Uboh, challenging the Senator Peter Nwaoboshi.

Justice Ngene said the petition was dead on arrival, and was struck out by the tribunal.
Uboh had challenged the election of Nwoaboshi on the basis that the elelcton was greeted massive irregularities.
