The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, Mr Adeyinka Adeleke, has denied knowledge of the alleged kidnap of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s sister in-law simply identified as Elizabeth.

Elizabeth is believed to be the immediate younger sister to the first lady and wife of Governor Okowa, Mrs Edith Okowa.

The victim was reportedly kidnapped on Monday evening at the popular Tempo Clinic junction along Anwai Road in Asaba, the state capital.

The abductors were reported to have trailed their target to the junction, which is few meters away from Government House, before intercepting her and whisked her to unknown destination.

The gunmen were said to have fired several shots sporadically during the incident.
