A 100L student of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), Effurun in the Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, has been attacked by unknown arms-wielding hoodlums, leaving her wounded.
The victim, a student of Chemical Engineering Department, was identified as Miss Blessing Festus.
WARRI TODAY learnt that the incident occurred around 8:15pm on Wednesday after the student made a cash withdrawal from a POS shop in the area.
Blessing was reportedly attacked by the suspected armed robbers on her way to one of the schools fellowships house along the pipeline road near the female hostel at Ugbomro for her night reading.
In an effort to dispossessed victim of her belongings, the hoodlums numbering four, stabbed her severally at different parts of her body before fleeing the scene.
It was gathered that Blessing’s attackers after stabbing her, collected the N15,000 naira she had just withdrawn and her expensive mobile phone.

A student of the institution who confirmed the incident to WARRI TODAY on Thursday, said the victim was rushed to the school health centre by students who were going for night reading ahead of their forthcoming examinations.
“She was beaten up after making cash withdrawal from a POS shop in Ugbromo. She was stabbed on her back, hands and somewhere near her eyes.
” She was rescued by some students who were going to class to read because of our forthcoming exams. She was rushed to the school health centre for treatment. She bleeding profusely when she was rushed there for treatment”, our source said.
Other students, who spoke with this reporter, said FUPRE students residing outside the school campus are at the mercy of hoodlums who often attacked them and rob them of their valuables.
However, further investigation revealed that the victim was also taken to the Central Hospital Warri for medical examination.
She was learnt to have been returned to FUPRE Health Centre where she is now currently receiving treatment.
When contacted, a Public Relations Officer, FUPRE, Mr Boniface Onyedi said the incident was yet to be reported to his unit.
