The chairman of Sapele Local Government Council in Delta State, Chief Eugene Inoaghan has visited the little girl whose video went viral after being driven from school over her parents’ inability to pay her school fees.
The little girl identified as Miss Success Adegor was also offered scholarship by the Sapele council chairman from primary school all through her secondary school.
A video of Success, a pupil of Okotie-Eboh Primary School, Sapele, had gone viral on the social media since on Thursday after she was sent home over school fees.
The little girl had in the video expressed her desire to be flogged in order for her to remain in school rather than to being driven home while other of her colleagues are learning.
However, the video which elicits sympathy had drawn the attention of popular comedian, AY and other notable celebrities including Mr Jollof, all offering to give her scholarship as well as changing her school in the coming term.
Touched by the video, the Sapele Council Chairman on Friday led top management of the council to visit the girl’s parents and the school where she was offered some cash amount of money.
Accompanied on the visit by Leader of Sapele Legislatives Arm, Hon Adibor Igho, Majority Leader of the Legislatives Arm, Hon Venture Kagbude, Hon. John Tebu, Chief Press Secretary to Sapele LG Chairman, Mr Malcolm Tagbarha and Chief Inspector of Education, Sapele LGA, Mrs Patience Ishegbe, Chief Inoaghan immediately further announced the council offer of a scholarship.
The delegation met with her parents, Mr & Mrs Godwin Adegor, teachers and the headmistress of the School where Miss Success was reportedly sent home.
He described the pupil as a lucky saying that the council’s secretary would officially write to the parents on the award of the scholarship.
