The immediate past Deputy President of the Nigerian, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has denied membership of the newly formed Team New Nigerian (TNN).
Omo-Agege, who is the Obarisi of Urhoboland, restated his commitment to the administration of President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Omo-Agege’s clarification was contained in a statement issued by his Special Adviser, Mr. Godwin Anaughe.
The former federal lawmaker described his inclusion into the formation of TNN as not only misleading, but false and unfounded.
The 2023 APC governorship candidate said he remained a member of the APC and would continue to work for the growth and development of the party.
“The Office of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege wishes to address a malicious publication circulating in the media, which has caused unnecessary speculation and concern among Nigerians.
“This publication, claiming Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has joined Team New Nigerian (TNN), is entirely false and malicious. This baseless allegation is clearly the handiwork of blackmailers seeking to tarnish the Senator’s reputation and create unnecessary tension within the political sphere. To be clear, Senator Omo-Agege is not a member, has never been a member, has no intention of becoming a member, and is not even familiar with the TNN.
“As the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Senator Omo-Agege remains a dedicated leader and major stakeholder in the party. He has consistently demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the party’s ideals, principles, and values. Throughout his political career, Senator Omo-Agege has been a steadfast advocate for progressive governance, good governance, and the well-being of Nigerian citizens.
“Furthermore, Senator Omo-Agege is fully committed to supporting President Bola Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda, designed to propel Nigeria toward economic growth, security, and improved welfare for all citizens. This transformative agenda focuses on creating opportunities for economic empowerment, enhancing national infrastructure, ensuring security and stability, and improving access to quality education and healthcare services.
“Senator Omo-Agege firmly believes that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda will transform Nigeria into a prosperous nation, where every citizen has access to opportunities, resources, and a better life. He is confident that the President’s leadership and vision will propel Nigeria toward a brighter future.
“We urge the public to disregard this misleading information and recognize it for what it is – a desperate attempt to sow confusion and discord. Senator Omo-Agege’s loyalty and dedication to the APC remain unwavering.
“We warn those behind this malicious publication to desist from spreading falsehoods and to focus on constructive engagement rather than deceitful tactics. The Nigerian people deserve truthful information and responsible leadership, which Senator Omo-Agege and the APC are committed to providing.
