Interim Super Eagles Augustine Eguavoen has named a 23-man squad that will face the Mediterranean Knights of Libya in this month’s home-and-away 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying.

In the list released on Saturday, Eguaveon named in-form Ademola Lookman of Serie A club Atalanta, Super Eagles captain, William Ekong and winger Moses Simon as the front-liners to persecute the must-win match against Libya.

However, reigning African Footballer of the Year, Victor Osimhen, was omitted from the 23-man list over the injury he sustained in club match last week.

Also absent from the squad is the captain of Orlando Pirates of South Africa, Olisa Ndah.

However, defender Bright Osayi-Samuel makes his way back after missing the duels with Benin Republic and Rwanda last month, and in-form playmaker Chidera Ejuke returns to the fold after many moons.

Wing-backs Olaoluwa Aina and Bruno Onyemaechi are included, as well as goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali and Maduka Okoya, defenders Oluwasemilogo Ajayi and Calvin Bassey, midfielders Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika and Alex Iwobi, and forwards Taiwo Awoniyi, Victor Boniface and Samuel Chukwueze.
