Olorogun Egbo Inaugurates Ughelli North Flood Control Committee 


 

As part of efforts to proactively tackle the imminent flooding in the council, the chairman of Ughelli North local government area, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, has inaugurated a 9-man Flood Control Committee.

 

The committee has as its chairman, the Vice Chairman of Ughelli North Council, Chief Meg Atano, while Chief David Ebrunu will serve as Secretary.

 

Other members of the committee are Akpotu Eyamu, Lucky Oborayirhuvbe, Ms, Nancy Enakirerhi, Chief Macferson Igbedi, Chief Kenneth Ukpebiteri, Aghogho Omaminiovo and Betty Ibodje.

 

The committee was inaugurated on Thursday by Olorogun Egbo at the Exco Chambers Chairman office in Ughelli, Delta State.

 

The Ughelli North Council boss, while inaugurating the Flood Control Committee, said it is a vital initiative aimed at addressing and mitigating the impact of flooding in affected communities in the area.

 

“This committee will play a crucial role in developing strategies for flood prevention, management, and response.

“As the Chairman of the Council, I believe it is imperative that we proactively address the challenges posed by flooding. The committee consists of Community Leaders/Environmental Experts, Health Workers, Administrators, and dedicated Volunteers who are all committed to safeguarding our residents and infrastructure.

 

“Furthermore, I wish to encourage all members to put in their best as we outline our objectives and establish our action plan for reducing the impact of flooding in our Local Government Council.

 

“Thank you for your commitment to this important cause. Together, we can create a safer and more resilient community.

 

“Finally, I want to enjoin you to partner with the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) believing that such synergy will go a long way to strengthen the operation of the committee,” said Egbo.
