President Muhammadu Buhari has been urged to reward women who supported his re-election campaign with 35 per cent of his appointments in the forthcoming cabinet to enable women actively contribute to the development of the country.
APC woman leader in Ebonyi State, Princess Ann Nwanyibuife Agom-Eze, who made the demand on behalf of women who supported the Mr. President’s re-election, also appealed Buhari to give his women juicy portfolios to enable them deliver.
Agom-Eze made the appeal on Thursday at a news conference in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, insisting that women deserve better treatment in the nation’s politics.
She commended the zeal and contributions of women and youths in the re-election of President Buhari, stressing that women deserved to be given more positions in the Buhari’s second term.
The former APC senatorial aspirant for Ebonyi South maintained that women had been marginalised for too long. She alleged that only few women were given tickets by their political parties to contest for elective positions in the 2019 general elections.
Agom-Eze stated, “As we celebrate your Excellency on your victory at the poll, please remember women in politics who were lobbied during APC primaries thereby decreasing the number of women elected as parliamentarians in the just concluded National Assembly election.
“It is my prayer that Your Excellency will reward the women, more especially those who participated at the primaries with appointments. We, women are asking for 35 per cent in the appointive positions. We all worked hard during the elections to ensure your victory.
The APC woman leader who doubled as the Ebonyi Coordinator of the Women and Youths Presidential Campaign Team (WYPCT) congratulated Ebonyi women and youths who worked hard to ensure that Buhari won the required number of votes in the state.

Agom-Eze, a former Permanent Secretary in Ebonyi congratulated Buhari on his second term victory and urged him to turn the concerns of millions of Nigerians into a positive action even as she maintained that Ebonyi will continue to support APC at all levels despite all odds.
“You have worked very tirelessly in your first term and your efforts have led to rebuilding the country and thereby making Nigeria a destination for both local and foreign investors.
“You administration has remained focused and resolute on delivering on the three-pronged promises of securing the lives and property of all Nigerians, halting the pillage of the economy by corrupt public officials and job creation.
“The few who believe in free ‘coffee’ this is the time for them to realize that we can no longer go back to Egypt and we say no corrupt leaders “, she added.
