Gov Poll: Delta declares Friday, March 8th, Public Holiday

Friday March 8th, 2019, has been declared Public Holiday by Delta State Government.

The state government said the Public Holiday was to ensure Deltans fully participating in this Saturday’s Governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Hon. Festus Ovie Agas, on Wednesday.

 Agas, in the statement advised Deltans to take advantage of the holiday to travel to their respective areas of registration to enable them freely choose and vote for the candidate of their choice on Saturday.

It, however, called on Deltans and the voting public to remain peace while exercising their franchise during the election by orderly and peacefully conducting themselves.

The government also thanked the people of the state for their participation in the electoral process so far and called for its sustenance towards consolidating and deeply the nation’s democratic gains.
