A popular Lagos and Abuja socialite and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Ambassador Oghenekaro Ekewenu, has reportedly passed on.

Amb. Ekewenu was said to have reportedly died in his sleep last Friday at his home.

The deceased, who hailed from Ugono-Orogun community in Orogun Kingdom, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta, was found dead on Friday March 22.

Ekewenu, who was in his early forties, was also a United Nations Ambassador on Sustainable Development Goals.

Sources close to the family of the deceased said the late Ekewenu was hale and hearty before going to bed on Thursday.

Besides being a politician and social media influencer, Ekewenu was also a popular philanthropist and businessman in Lagos and Abuja.

Prior before his defection to the APC in build up to the 2023 general election, the deceased politician was a close ally of former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and friend of the incumbent Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
