Bini Pere IV, a quiet Ijaw businessman, was enthroned as a traditional ruler on November 23, 2022, after his choice was generally accepted by the Ruling House in Egbema Kingdom.
He was, however, presented with a staff of office and instrument of appointment by the then Delta governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, represented by his then deputy, Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, on January 20, 2023.
Agadagba’s selection and enthronement was greeted with wild jubilation among the Ijaw speaking tribe in Delta.
Multiple sources in the kingdom confirmed the passage of the much-respected monarch to NIGER DELTA TODAY Online.
Our sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity for traditional reasons expressed surprise at the circumstance the royal father passed on.
It was further learnt that the Egbema Traditional Council would soon announce the passage of the monarch once traditional rites currently ongoing were completed.
Meanwhile, repeated efforts to speak with the Secretary, Egbema Traditional Council, Chief Cyrus Olopele, for official response proved abortive.
The state had recently lost the Pere of Seimbiri Kingdom in Burutu Local Government Area, HRM Pere Charles Ayemi-Botu and the Asagba of Asaba, Obi (Prof.) Chike Edozien.
