President Bola Tinubu on Monday says there is no excuse for failure or poor performance by his administration, assuring that his government will fulfill electioneering promises he made to Nigerians in 2024.

Tinubu also promised to remove any clog against making the country a destination choice for both local and foreign investors in the New Year.

He gave the assurance in a New Year broadcast to welcome Nigerians into 2024, while stressing that his administration is committed to making the country achieve her greatness.

The President, who acknowledged the current economic hardship in the country, noted that the country will surpass the challenges with policies being undertaken by the APC-led government.

Tinubu noted that though his administration had taken some hard economic decision including the removal of fuel subsidy and the liberalization of the exchange, he said those decisions were in the best interest of the country.

He stated further that his administration is taking major steps in tackling the country’s challenges including ending the insecurity in some parts of the country as well as boosting agriculture through enhanced production.

President Tinubu assured that his administration would implement a national living wage for Nigerian workers in the New Year, stressing that vulnerable Nigerians will not be neglected by his government.

According to him, “We will work diligently to make sure every Nigerian feels the impact of their government. The economic aspirations and the material well-being of the poor, the most vulnerable and the working people shall not be neglected. It is in this spirit that we are going to implement a new national living wage for our industrious workers this new year. It is not only good economics to do this, it is also a morally and politically correct thing to do.
