Senator Abba Moro

The senator representing Benue South senatorial district at the National Assembly, Abba Moro, has emerged as the Senate Minority Leader.

Moro, a former Minister of Interior and four-time Senator, emerged following the nullification of the election of immediate past minority leader, Simon Mwadkwon, by the Court of Appeal in Abuja.

Mwadkwon was senator representing Plateau North senatorial district in the National Assembly on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Senator Moro’s appointment was made known at the plenary on Tuesday by the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

The lawmakers from leading opposition party (PDP) had agreed to zone the position to the North-Central to allow for fairness and equity.
