Senators-elect Begin Voting For Principal Officers

The inauguration of the 10th National Assembly is now currently underway as Senators-elect have started casting their vote for principal officers that will preside over the 10th Senate.

A former governor of Akwa Ibom State and former minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio and Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari, are both keenly contesting for Senate President.

Akpabio enjoys the support of President Bola Tinubu, while Senator Yari has the support of opposition members for the senate presidency.

Both aspirants are elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the ruling party.

Senators-elect are voting in an alphabetical order of states they were elected from beginning from Abia State.
