2023: Tinubu Promises “Better Deal” For Niger Delta After Meeting With Tompolo, Gbaramatu Monarch

The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (2023) for the 2023 general elections, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Friday said his administration will give the people of the Niger Delta region a “new development roadmap” if elected as President.

He said he would constantly and constructively engage the people of the region on policies of administration in the interest of justice and fairness.

Tinubu spoke on Friday minutes after he met with former Niger Delta militant leader, Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo and traditional ruler of Gbaramatu Kingdom, HRM Oboro Gbaruan II at Oporoza in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.

Accompanied by governors of Kano and Yobe State and the Delta APC governorship candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Tinubu said the people of Niger Delta, “need honesty, you need the man who knows the root. That man is me.

As promised we will not be far away from you we will carry you along, we will consult with you regularly. Our brothers here, we will embrace them for the development of the area, the community of Gbaramatu and other associated communities.

“I promise you economic development, progress, jobs for our youths, a promised tomorrow that is certain, and a renewed hope.”

He also appealed to the people of the region to support federal government’s efforts at securing oil facilities in the region.

The APC Presidential candidate at the campaign took a swipe at the presidential candidate of the Labour Party and former Anambra governor, Mr. Peter Obi, accusing him of brandishing “fake and incorrect statistics”.

He also blasted that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for being a “serial presidential loser”.

There are few of us left running. One said he is Atiku. How many times has he been running. He is always on the run and he is tired, tell him to go and sit down. Enough is enough.

The other one, that one, he thinks na statistics we go chop. He good with arithmetics that no Indian man can solve.

“”To mention his name is a disgrace to me self. I will not mention the name. Wrong statistics and wrong arithmetics, that is not what Nigerians needs,” he said.

Earlier in his remark, APC Governorship Candidate, Omo-Agege called on the people of Niger Delta region to support the presidential ambition of Tinubu, saying that the region will massively benefit from it.

The Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate also promised to ensure that all ports in the state will become become functional if he and Asiwaju Tinubu become governor and president in 2023.

Tinubu alongside the Deputy President of the Senate, Omo-Agege and governors of Kano and Yobe State were decorated with chieftaincy Ijaw traditional titles by the monarch of Gbaramatu kingdom, Gbaruan II.

Other top dignitaries at the event include Delta APC Deputy governorship candidate, Hon. Friday Osanebi, Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole. Elder Godsday Orubebe, Mr. Festus Kevamo, Timipre Sylva.
