The Vice-Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council in Delta State, Olorogun Daniel Ighedo, has reportedly died after months of running battle with the Uvwie traditional throne.

Ighedo, who hails from Ekpan town of Uvwie, reportedly died on Tuesday after he reportedly slumped and was pronounced dead at the hospital he was rushed for treatment.

He was said to have slumped in Effurun and was rushed to a private hospital in Warri where he was confirmed dead on arrival by medical doctors.

The Uvwie Council vice chairman was purportedly ostracisation by the Uvwie monarch over the crisis surrounding the appointment of Community Liaison Officer (CLO) to a company in the area.

His ostracisation followed a petition he wrote against the revered Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, HRM Abe 1, to the Nigeria Police Force demanding the arrest and interrogation of the monarch.

The death of Ighedo was alleged to have been greeted by jubilation in most parts of Uvwie Kingdom particularly the Ekpan area of the Kingdom.
