Oborevwori, Other PDP Governorship Candidates Meet PDP NWC In Abuja

By Emeka Okafor

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and governorship candidates of the party across the country are currently meeting in Abuja ahead of the 2023 general elections.

It was gathered that the party is meeting over the internal crises rocking the party following outcome of the governorship primaries in the various states.

Among those attending the meeting is the embattled governorship candidate of the party in Delta State, who doubled as speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr. Sheriff Oborevwori.

However, Mr. David Edevbie, who was declared as the governorship candidate of the party by a Federal High Court in Abuja, was absent at the meeting.

Also absent at the meeting is the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, who is believed to be currently out of the country.

Similarly, the Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, who was also absent at the time the meeting began was said to have sent in his apologies.

The closed-door meeting is tagged an interactive session between the party national leadership and the party candidates ahead of the 2023 elections.

PDP had been engulfed in crises since the emergence of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the presidential candidate of the party for next year’s elections.

Camp loyal to the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, in the party has also demanded for the removal of the national chairman of the party, Dr Iyorchia Ayu.
