The Lagos State Government has reopened Chrisland Schools, five days, after it was shut down indefinitely over the controversial sex video involving some pupils of the school.

Lagos Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, announced the development on Saturday in a statement.

Adefisayo directed reopening of all branches of the school from Monday when schools in the state resume for the third term academic session.

The elite school was shut down after a controversial sex video of some pupils of the school who had gone for the World School Games in Dubai went viral during the week.

Following the disturbing viral video, Lagos government close down all branches of Chrisland School pending outcome of investigation on the issue.

But directing the reopening of the school, Adefisayo said the development was to ensure that students were not denied access to education.

The State Government shut the schools for safety of students and the staff and to ensure unhindered investigation of the incident.

“The Ministry of Education and other relevant agencies of the State, in conjunction with the school’s Parent Teachers Association, will be working on a scheduled psychosocial support for the students.

“An extensive assessment of the school’s procedure, especially on external trips and excursions, is being made to identify safety gaps and prevent such incidents.

“Besides, the Ministry will launch the reviewed guidelines/protocols governing private and public schools across the State within the next one month”, the statement read.
