The Federal Government has released names of borders where Nigerians trapped in the ongoing Ukraine conflict can access Poland.
The Nigerian Government through the Chairman Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabire-Erawa, gave the information on Saturday.
Nigerian rescuing effort is coming after Russia troops invaded its neighbouring Ukrainian country with Kyiv, the nation’s capital, being target of the Putin’s men.
Scores of Ukrainians and foreigners have been reportedly killed in the invasion since on Thursday when conflict started.
There have also been public outcry that over 5,000 Nigerians were being trapped in the European country.
But Abike speaking on the development on Saturday said Nigerians fleeing the country should Hrebenne-Rawa Ruska, Korczowa-Krawkowiec, Medyka-Szeginie and Budomierz-Hurszew borders to access Poland for safety.
She stated Nigerian volunteer groups and staff of Nigerian Embassy were already stationed in the various borders to assist them get help.
“Nigerian volunteer groups, as well as staff of Nigerian Embassy, will be at the border to pick Nigerians”, she said.
Earlier Saturday, the federal government said it had made necessary arrangements to evacuate stranded Nigerians in Ukraine to Poland.
The Embassy of Nigeria in Warsaw, Poland, in a public notice, said officials and volunteers would be at the Polish-Ukrainian borders to pick up Nigerians.
