The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ebonyi State chapter, has endorsed a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Anyim Pius Anyim for the 2023 presidential election.
The party said it was supporting Anyim for the number one citizen of the country because of his track records as SGF and Senate President.
Toochukwu Okorie, state chairman of the party, stated this at a press briefing in Abakaliki after the party’s 1st SEC meeting.
He opined that the party was poised to return PDP to the government house in the state come 2023.
He said, “We wish to reiterate our preparedness to return PDP to the Government house of Ebonyi state come 2023 by the grace of God as the state remains a PDP state,” Okorie said.
Okorie announced the constitution of a committee that will reach out to some members of the party in the state who were disenchanted on the just concluded state congress of the party.
Earlier in the meeting, the senator representing Ebonyi central at the National Assembly, Senator Obinna Ogba donated 17 cars to the party from the state chairman to the local government chairman.
Ogba also donated rice to all the party members at the ward level.
He assured them of more dividends of democracy to the party noting that since the party does not have a governor in the state he will do all the things the governor would have done for them.
The Senator reaffirmed the commitment of PDP to reclaim their mandate in the state.
He urged the party members to work as a team to make the party stronger.
