CEDESA Initiative Rewards Beneficiaries Of Free Holiday Lessons For Delta Teenagers


The Center for Education Development and Skill Acquisition (CEDESA) Initiative has concluded the August 2021 free holiday lesson and mentoring programme for teenagers with a call on parents to invest in the education and all round development of their children in order for them to grow into assets and not liabilities to the society.

The CEO, CEDESA Initiative, Mrs Ugbe Iyabo Oluronke made the call during encapsulated speech at the grand finale and award ceremony of the free holiday lesson and mentoring programme organized for teenagers in Obiaruku.

In her address, she noted that CEDESA Initiative is driven by the passion for education development in all ramifications in Nigeria as well as the multidimensional development and equipping of young adults that she described as the future of this nation.

Mrs Ugbe who is a seasoned academician commended the instructors for helping to coach, mentor and train the beneficiaries on practical life skills that are capable of making them independent; “I want to say a very big thank you to the instructors that helped drive home the core objectives of the August Free Holiday Lesson and Mentoring. God bless you all as you continue to partner with CEDESA Initiative,” she added.

While the mentoring programme lasted, the beneficiaries
were coached in Basic Mathematics, English Studies, Health and Hygiene, personal development, entrepreneurship, personality and character ethics, career development, university preparation and personal life skills.

Other areas covered during the programme were global leadership and management skills, time management skills and pre-exam preparation techniques which were targeted at engaging
them in practical tools and strategies to better position themselves for impactful living and leadership
opportunities.

According to the organization’s Media and Programmes Director, Pastor Aiya Abhumhen, “CEDESA Initiative is committed to deliver on its core mandate which is education development with corresponding skills that will empower young people to be relatively independent even during their academic pursuit,” he enthused.

Highlights of the event was the presentation of Cash Awards, Complete Writing Materials and School Bags while the five instructors that were engaged for the successful actualization of the ideals of the programme also received cash awards.

In their separate remarks, the beneficiaries of the mentoring programme expressed their appreciation to the CEO and the Board of Directors of CEDESA Initiative for the free holiday lesson and laudable teen mentoring programme.
