I Won’t Step Aside As PDP National Chairman – Uche Secondus Vows

Embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has vowed to resign even as more leaders of the party are demanding for his seat.

Secondus said there was nothing by those calling for his head that warrant his resignation.

The PDP chairman has been under intense pressure to step down as the crisis rocking the opposition party worsened.

A statement on Monday signed by his media aide, Ike Abonyi, stressed that the chairman of the major opposition party in the country would not resign his position.

He said he was committed to ideals of the party as well as strengthening the party until the expiration of his tenure.

“The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, has said that he will not resign his position.

“Prince Secondus said nothing so far warrants his resignation from the party position and those calling for his resignation should come clean and tell party members across the country his offense why he should resign.

“He said he will remain focused and committed to the ideals of the party which he swore to protect and defend upon his election to lead this great party 44 months ago”, the statement said.
