Scores of students have been reportedly feared dead after a petroleum tanker crushed pupils of Army Children Primary School, Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
It was gathered that the students were returning home from school when the tanker, ladened with petroleum product, ran into them.
NIGER DELTA TODAY (NDT) Online gathered that about ten of the students were dead while others have been rushed to the Central Hospital Warri and military hospital inside the Effurun Barrack for medical treatment.

The accident occurred at 3pm on Thursday directly opposite the Gen. David Ejoor Barrack of the Nigerian Army in Effurun near Warri.
Our correspondent who visited the scene of the incident gathered that 12 students were rushed to the Central Hospital Warri.
Of the number, nine of the pupils were confirmed dead on arrival while three others have been referred to the Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara, after being stabilised.
A joint team of the Nigerian Army, FRSC and other security agencies were seen making frantic efforts to recover the remaining pupils being trapped under the tanker.
The popular Effurun/NPA Road has been blocked to vehicular movement while firefighters have been drafted to the scene to prevent fire outbreak.

The exact number of pupils involved in the accident was yet to be ascertained at the time of filing this report while parents were seen rushing to the scene of the accident.
A crane has been drafted to the scene to pull off the tanker to recover pupils still being trapped under the petroleum tanker.
