Reps Member, Efe Afe, Empowers Delta Constituents With Over N20m Cash

Delta PDP Chairman, Chief Kingsley Esiso, Rep Efe Afe and a beneficiary

The member representing Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Efe Afe, has empowered no fewer than 40 youths and vulnerable women in his constituency with over N20 million.

Each of the beneficiaries drawn from the various communities in the three Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie LGAs received at least N50, 000 to support their trade and cushion the effect of current economic hardship in the country.

The cash empowerment was presented by Hon. Afe during the training and cash empowerment of his constituents at Orerokpe in Okpe Council area of the state on Tuesday.

Afe, addressing the beneficiaries and other constituents, said he had provided transformers, water projects, tricycles, sewing machines, grinding machines and other empowerments to the people of the constituency since he was elected over two years ago.

He stated that he sponsored several bills in the House of Representatives including a bill for an act to amend the provision of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to give more Powers and Responsibilities to Local Government and other related matters.

According to him, he also sponsored a bill for an act to amend the provision of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 to create State Security outfits and for other related matters and a bill for an act to establish a Federal University of Agriculture Technology Orerokpe and for related matters amongst others.

The lawmaker explained that the various empowerment programmes he had embarked on were aimed to assist the downtrodden as well as to reduce poverty among his constituents even as he promised to do more.

He enjoined the beneficiaries to make good use of the money by supporting their trade and business to enable them fend for their families and loved ones.

In his part, chairman of the Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olorogun Kingsley Esiso while commending the lawmaker, advised the beneficiaries to continue to support PDP and woo others to join the party.

Chief Esiso urged the constituents to continue to support and pray for Chief Afe to succeed in attracting more development to the three local government areas.

The Delta PDP chairman assured that the party will maintain her win in the state in 2023 governorship and presidential elections.
