Oyo State Governor, Mr. Seyi Makinde has relieved his commissioners and other political appointees of their appointment.
This followed the dissolution of the state cabinet shortly after the State Executive Council meeting in Ibadan on Tuesday.
However, the dissolution did not affect Secretary to the State Government, Special Adviser to the Governor on Due Process, and some other personal aides of the governor.
There have been speculations since last week over possible dissolution of the cabinet.
Although, no reason has been adduced for the action, it was gathered that the governor was not satisfied with the performance of some cabinet memgers.
It being speculated that at least eight of the sacked commissioners may not return when the cabinet is re-constituted.
The affected erstwhile cabinet members were directed to hand over to the most senior officers in their respective ministries, departments and agencies.
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa confirmed the cabinet dissolution but did not give details.
