Bill Seeking Establishment Of Federal Medical Center In Orerokpe Passes 2nd Reading

A bill for the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre (FMC) at Orerokpe in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State has scaled second reading in the floor of the House of Representatives.

The bill seeking to provide legal framework for the establishment of the medical centre is being sponsored by the member Representing Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie Federal constituency, Hon. Efe Afe.

 Speaking on the need for the establishment of the hospital, Afe said the bill for the establishment of the centre was in response to the yearnings of his constituents.

The federal lawmaker said residents of the state especially members of his constituency deserved a a well-equipped federal medical centre that will cater for the health needs of the densely populated area in Delta.

 He further added that the move for the establishment of the Federal Medical Centre was informed by the need to bridge the existing gap between primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare delivery systems in the consistency

 Hon Afe disclosed that the Orodje of Okpe, H.R.M Mujakperuo Orhue 1 and other stakeholders have approved about six hectares of land for the establishment of the Federal Medical center.

He stated that the monarch and people of Okpe kingdom were happy over the bill to establish FMC in the area.

Afe enjoined his constituents to continue to support him, pledging to attract more development to the grassroot.
